Common questions
Philippine take-home pay & withholding tax, explained
This free Philippine net pay calculator shows your real take-home sweldo after the four deductions every rank-and-file employee pays — SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR withholding tax. Enter your monthly gross above and it computes your net pay per month and per cutoff (kinsenas & katapusan) using the current 2025–2026 government schedules — the same salary computation a Philippine payroll department uses.
How salary computation works in the Philippines
Your net pay = gross salary − SSS − PhilHealth − Pag-IBIG − withholding tax. The three statutory contributions come off first; what remains is your taxable income. Under the TRAIN law, only annual taxable income above ₱250,000 is taxed at all — so a monthly salary up to about ₱21,000–₱22,000 pays ₱0 income tax and keeps roughly 92% of gross. Higher salaries are taxed only on the slice above each bracket, so your effective withholding tax rate is always lower than the headline tax band suggests. See every bracket in the SSS, PhilHealth & Pag-IBIG contribution table 2026.

BIR monthly withholding tax table (2023 onward)
Payroll applies this table to your monthly taxable compensation — gross pay minus SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG. It's the same graduated TRAIN-law schedule as the annual table, divided by 12:
| Monthly taxable compensation | Withholding tax |
|---|---|
| ₱20,833 and below | ₱0 |
| ₱20,833 – ₱33,332 | 15% of the excess over ₱20,833 |
| ₱33,333 – ₱66,666 | ₱1,875 + 20% of the excess over ₱33,333 |
| ₱66,667 – ₱166,666 | ₱8,541.80 + 25% of the excess over ₱66,667 |
| ₱166,667 – ₱666,666 | ₱33,541.80 + 30% of the excess over ₱166,667 |
| ₱666,667 and above | ₱183,541.80 + 35% of the excess over ₱666,667 |
Example: ₱40,000 taxable a month → ₱1,875 + 20% × (₱40,000 − ₱33,333) ≈ ₱3,208 withholding tax. The calculator above does this for you, including the SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG salary deductions first.
