SSS Pension Calculator: How Much Will You Get Monthly?

Enter your monthly salary credit and how long you've contributed to estimate your SSS retirement pension, including the ₱1,000 additional benefit and the 13th-month pension. Works for employees, OFWs, freelancers, and voluntary members.

Estimate only. Uses the SSS retirement formula under RA 8282 and RA 11199 and the 15% contribution rate from 2025. It leaves out any across-the-board pension increases. Your official computation comes from SSS.

Will it be enough? Most retirees need far more than ₱11,800 a month. Build a second pension with Pag-IBIG MP2 or PERA, and plan it in the Goals planner.

The formula, in plain words

Your monthly basic pension is the highest of:

  1. ₱300 + 20% of your AMSC + 2% of AMSC for every year past 10. This one grows the longer you contribute.
  2. 40% of your AMSC. This usually wins if you have fewer than about 20 years.
  3. The minimum: ₱1,200 with 10 years, ₱2,400 with 20 years.

Add the ₱1,000 additional benefit, and in December you get a 13th-month pension. Your AMSC is the higher of your average salary credit over the last 60 months or over your whole membership, capped at ₱20,000 for the pension.

Three ways to get a bigger pension

  • Reach 120 contributions. Below that there's no monthly pension, only a lump sum.
  • Contribute longer. Each credited year past 10 adds 2% of your AMSC to your pension for life.
  • Pay on a higher MSC, especially in the last 5 years. Voluntary and OFW members choose their MSC. Raise it well before 55, because SSS limits increases after that.

SSS alone rarely covers retirement. Add a second pillar with Pag-IBIG MP2 or long-term investing. OFWs can plan both in the OFW remittance planner, and freelancers can check their tax in the freelancer tax calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How is the SSS pension computed?

Your monthly basic pension is the highest of three amounts: ₱300 + 20% of your average monthly salary credit (AMSC) + 2% of AMSC for every credited year beyond 10; or 40% of AMSC; or the minimum pension (₱1,200 with 10 credited years, ₱2,400 with 20). Every pensioner also gets a ₱1,000 additional benefit and a 13th-month pension each December.

How many contributions do I need for a monthly SSS pension?

At least 120 monthly contributions (10 years) before your retirement semester, and age 60 if you are no longer working or 65 regardless. With fewer than 120, SSS pays a one-time lump sum instead of a monthly pension. You can keep paying as a voluntary member after 60 to complete 120.

What is the maximum SSS pension?

The pension uses an AMSC of up to ₱20,000. At that cap and 40 credited years, the formula gives about ₱16,300 basic plus ₱1,000, around ₱17,300 a month before any across-the-board increases. Contributions on MSC above ₱20,000 go to your WISP provident fund account and are paid out separately.

How do I increase my SSS pension?

Contribute longer (each credited year past 10 adds 2% of AMSC) and contribute at a higher MSC. Because AMSC uses the higher of your last 60 months or your lifetime average, a higher MSC in the 5 years before retirement lifts it the most. SSS limits how members 55 and older can raise their MSC, so plan increases earlier.

Can OFWs and freelancers get an SSS pension?

Yes. OFWs are covered as OFW members and freelancers as self-employed members; non-working spouses and people between jobs can pay as voluntary members. They pay the full 15% of their chosen MSC themselves, and the pension formula is the same.

How much do voluntary and OFW members pay?

From 2025 the SSS contribution rate is 15% of your monthly salary credit. Voluntary, self-employed, and OFW members pay all of it: ₱750 a month at the ₱5,000 minimum MSC, ₱3,000 at ₱20,000. Employees pay 5% and their employer pays 10%.

Educational estimate only. Excludes dependents' pension, the 18-month advance lump-sum option, WISP payouts, and any pension increases SSS approves. Check your contribution record in My.SSS and confirm your benefit with SSS.
