Ang 13th month ay dapat matanggap on or before December 24 (PD 851), at tax-free hanggang ₱90,000 kasama ang ibang bonus (TRAIN law).
Tingnan ang emergency fund by expenses.
- Hatiin ang natira. Mag-set ng iisang halaga bawat inaanak at bawat kapamilya, at manatili doon.
- Bayaran lahat bago Enero 15.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I budget for Christmas in the Philippines?
Start from the money you actually have for Pasko — your 13th month, any Christmas bonus, and what you set aside during the year — then take out what must come first: topping up your emergency fund and paying down high-interest utang. What is left is your guilt-free Pasko budget. Plan gifts, Noche Buena and travel inside that number instead of picking a number first.
When is the 13th month pay released?
By law (PD 851), rank-and-file private employees must receive their 13th month pay on or before December 24. Some employers release half mid-year and half in December.
Is the 13th month pay taxed?
Your 13th month and other benefits like a Christmas bonus are tax-free up to ₱90,000 a year combined (TRAIN law). Only the part above ₱90,000 is taxed.
How much should I give my inaanak?
There is no fixed rule — it depends on your budget, not on what others give. Decide one amount per inaanak that fits your plan, and give the same to everyone in the same group. A small gift you can afford is better than a big one paid with a credit card in January.
Is it okay to use a credit card or "buy now, pay later" for Christmas?
Only if you can pay the full amount when the bill arrives. Carrying a balance at up to 3% a month — or using BNPL and app loans with fees — turns a ₱10,000 Christmas into much more by summer. Check the true cost first with the Loan True Cost Checker, and plan to pay everything off by January 15.
Educational tool only — your numbers stay on your device and are not saved. Confirm your 13th month amount with your employer's payroll.
